This project is about the construction of a platform in the trees —the beginning of a tree house— in my village in August 2022. It was created as part of my Diploma Design Thesis entitled "TREEHOUSES" but it was only realized because the people who loved this idea decided to get involved.
This is a photo story that I tried to create at the same time as the construction progress. Essentially I tried to record all the steps and processes we followed, in order to be able to narrate not only the construction experience itself but also the architectural design and methodology.
The project budget came from the support of friends, acquaintances and strangers through the Kickstarter (crowdfunding ). The construction was carried out by Giorgos Koutsioumpas and Fanis Kolovos. Thank you all ♥
The idea for the treeplatform, begins from my Diploma Thesis. In the try, to support the concept that the treehouses can save the world, I came to a point where I had to build one by my self. So the Treeplatform on Amplas, was the only way to convince someone for my vision. Also with this I would be able to answer not only the WHY treehouse, but also the HOW treehouses.
After the summer, having all these photos and keeping a everyday diary I had to create a concrete proof of the construction to show at the Presentation of my Thesis. Also and more important, I wanted to capture my thougths of my overall personal experience of my first "real" architecture.
